Leadership for the 56th Session


Aaron Ordower
Secretary General
Aaron Ordower is a senior studying Political Science and Spanish/Portuguese. He was born in Chicago but grew up in the Los Angeles area. He studied abroad in Chile and spent summer 2007 working in Mozambique. He loves travel, politics and diplomacy, foreign music, movies and food, and getting to know people from diverse backgrounds. This is his eighth year participating in Model UN. He previously served as head chair of the Organization of American States and vice-chair of the Security Council and the Historic Security Council. He is looking forward to working with all the advisors and delegates over the next year and meeting you in March.

Natalie Montano
Natalie Montano
Under-Secretary General of Logistics
Natalie is a senior studying English Literature. During her years in BMUN, she has served as a vice-chair on the Crisis Simulation committee. As for non-MUN activities, she has spent time studying and working in France, and overall enjoys poetry, classic movies, and fine coffee.

Ariana Afshar
Ariana Afshar
Under-Secretary General of Staff Development
Ariana is a senior double majoring in Economics and Political Science. She will be the Head Chair of the Economic and Financial Committee for the 56th Session, and has served on the Legal Committee. Besides being in love with international politics and economics, Ariana loves foreign films, Cal football and water polo, and world cup soccer. When not working on the 56th Session or actually studying, she can be found guiltily watching Grey’s Anatomy or Desperate Housewives.

Bryan Su
Bryan Su
Under-Secretary General of Technology
Bryan is a 4th-year at both Cal and in BMUN, and is at the end of a very rewarding and extensive career in MUN. He is majoring in Legal Studies and Molecular Cell Biology, with an emphasis in genetics and development. He is an avid fan of Cal football and Dodger baseball, and of the TV drama House, M.D. He academic life is currently focused on the new international eugenics movement and on applying to law school.

Eric Ching

Under-Secretary General of Research
Eric is a senior majoring in Political Science, and minoring in Education. In BMUN he has served on the Crisis Simulations staff for four years now, and will be the acting Head Chair for this year’s Crisis Simulations. Eric specializes in Chinese Foreign relations, having made numerous trips to Beijing, Shanghai, and Taiwan province in order to develop Sino-US ties and conduct research. Eric’s previous postings also include the US Congress, Department of Homeland Security, Superior Court of Alameda County, and law firms in the Los Angeles area. Eric enjoys good books and long walks on the beach.

Danielle Serbin

Under-Secretary General of External Relations
Danielle Serbin is a third-year Political Science major. This will be her third year in BMUN and her seventh doing MUN. She is very excited to be BMUN56’s USG of External Relations and to be chair of the European Union Committee this March. Danielle’s other interests include politics, shopping, reading, and going to the theatre.

Richard Hill

Under-Secretary General of Outreach
Richard is in his junior year at Cal, majoring in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and minoring in European Studies. This will be his third year as a member of BMUN, and his seventh year involved with the MUN program. Richard is also a cadet in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at UC Berkeley and an active member of the Arnold Air Society. This will be his third year working with outreach and is excited about bringing the best possible experience to every student that wishes to learn about the international community.

Samantha Liang

Under-Secretary General of Special Events
Samantha is a junior Bioengineering major and currently researches in a Synthetic Biology lab on projects such as biological transistors and blood substitutes. This is her third year chairing for BMUN and she is especially excited to be heading a committee this year. She loves art, board games and the beach, and besides for swimming, avoids exercise at all costs.

Under-Secretary General of Publications
Bonnie is a junior intending to major in Business and political science. Positioned as the Undersecretary General of Publications, she enjoys taking photos and capturing precious moments. She is very excited for the upcoming BMUN conference in March and can’t wait to meet the enthusiastic delegates!

Under-Secretary General of Internal Relations
Kalis is a second year student who is planning on double majoring in Political Science and Classical Civilizations. Her interests range from international politics to cooking and is really excited to meet all of the enthusiastic delegates!

Evelyn Chiu
Evelyn Chiu
Treasurer
Evelyn is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration and Political science. Evelyn serves as the Treasurer of BMUN and is also involved with various organizations, including Regents & Scholars Association, Alumni Scholars Association, and is a Marketing Assistant for the Academic Services Center. She spent her past summer interning at PricewaterhouseCoopers and taking a Business Chinese course in Taipei, Taiwan. Evelyn is fluent in Mandarin, speaks Spanish, and is hoping to learn Taiwanese as well.

Historian
I am Shashank Iyer and I have the honor of serving as the Historian for the 56th session of the BMUN conference. I am a Sophomore here at Cal and am planning to double major in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. Including part of Middle School, this will be my 7th year in Model United Nations. In my free time, I love to watch/play cricket, watch movies, read books and listen to some selective tunes. I am also an avid fan of Cal Football and enjoy traveling.
