Outreach

Introduction

BMUN’s outreach program is focused on promoting an extensive knowledge of Model United Nations formalities and international relations among high school students. The primary purpose of BMUN’s outreach program is to ensure that all students, regardless of prior experience, are given the chance to develop strong speaking and writing skills as well as a comprehensive knowledge of international affairs.

There are several opportunities throughout the year for delegates and advisors to work with the BMUN secretariat. The Delegate Workshop, hosted by BMUN each fall, provides delegates, old and new, with a chance to hone many of the skills used during the spring conference. In addition, schools that attend the Delegate Workshop are eligible for a scholarship to be put towards our spring conference. BMUN also conducts outreach sessions with high schools that may need support in establishing a Model UN program, developing debating skills, or cultivating global awareness.
